According to a CBS report, later this weekend the United States and Israel may launch a large-scale bombing campaign targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure.
If this operation takes place, Israel will resume military actions after the ceasefire mediated by the United States. Since the memorandum of understanding ended and the US resumed operations again at the beginning of July, Iran has not attacked Israel.
According to the report, the plan for this potential military strike was discussed on Friday at a cabinet meeting held by President Donald Trump at Camp David. Later, according to sources who received the briefing, some policy advisors in the White House also opposed the plan.
